Our Projects

Our projects are located in more than 19 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions in the Chinese Mainland. Since 2016, we have also extended our social work training and projects to countries like Kazakhstan, Thailand, and Vietnam. Since 2018, projects on social and solidarity economy have been extended from the Chinese Mainland to Taiwan and Thailand.

The Department of Applied Social Sciences of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (APSS) cooperates with the China Social Work Academy (Academy) on the overall plan of "Collaboration: National Township (Street) Social Workstation Construction Assistance Plan" (Collaboration Plan).

A study on the social service projects under the COVID-19 in PRC

Project location : China (10 sites, to be confirmed)
In 2020, a Covid-19 Related Short-Term Fund was launched with the objective of granting support to partners in China. The fund aimed to provide timely assistance to individuals and communities, helping them cope with emerging needs and mitigate emotional stress resulting from the impact of the pandemic.

This community-based health action research project aims to meet multiple needs, especially those of the health dimension of left-behind children, youth, and elderly of the“skipped generation households” in Miaoxia Village.

“House of Dreams (Phase II)” & Rural Development in Zhoushan Village

Project location : Zhoushan village, Zhengzhou, Henan
The award-winning* project “House of Dreams” serves as a community centre in Zhoushan village, Zhengzhou, Henan. As a co-creation project, its planning, design, and construction combined the contributions of over 80 Zhoushan villagers, whose ancestors once inhabited the 19 caves are now revitalized and reconstructed into the centre.
