Our Projects
Our Projects
Our projects are located in more than 19 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions in Mainland China. Since 2016, we have also extended our social work training and projects to countries like Vietnam, Kazakhstan, and Thailand. Since 2018, projects on social and solidarity economy have been extended from Mainland China to Taiwan and Thailand.
Advancing collaborative practice research with children, youth and families in poverty in Kazakhstan and Central Asia
Project location : Almaty, Kazakhstan
This project is a collaborative project between PolyU and the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University (KazNU) to address the needs of children, youth and their families in poverty in Kazakhstan through practice research.
“House of Dreams (Phase II)” & Rural Development in Zhoushan Village
Project location : Zhoushan village, Zhengzhou, Henan
The award-winning* project “House of Dreams” serves as a community centre in Zhoushan village, Zhengzhou, Henan. As a co-creation project, its planning, design, and construction combined the contributions of over 80 Zhoushan villagers, whose ancestors once inhabited the 19 caves are now revitalized and reconstructed into the centre.
Enhancing Quality of Life in Disaster Affected Community in Ya’an of Sichuan: Community-based Health Action Research Project

This community-based health action research project aims to meet multiple needs, especially those of the health dimension of left-behind children, youth, and elderly of the“skipped generation households” in Miaoxia Village.

The Department of Applied Social Sciences of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (APSS) cooperates with the China Social Work Academy (Academy) on the overall plan of "Collaboration: National Township (Street) Social Workstation Construction Assistance Plan" (Collaboration Plan).
A study on the social service projects under the COVID-19 in PRC

In 2020, a Covid-19 Related Short-Term Fund was launched with the objective of granting support to partners in China. The fund aimed to provide timely assistance to individuals and communities, helping them cope with emerging needs and mitigate emotional stress resulting from the impact of the pandemic.
China Social Work Project Fund (Round III)

China Social Work Project Fund enters phase III in 2021. It aims to support China-based projects in professional social work practice research with their basis on solid research methodology and strong rationales to integrate theory and practice, feasible service and practice content followed by appropriate evaluations.
Sustainable Livelihood Development in Three Remote Rural Villages in China
By applying the social economy framework and social work approach, this 3 years’ project aims at working with the local partners and villagers to connect livelihood innovation with social development and ecological protection.
