Dear Scholars, Researchers, and Experts,

It is our great pleasure to invite you to "Social Work Innovation: Theory and Practice in the New Development Stage", which is being co-organised by China and Global Development Network, the Department of Applied Social Sciences at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and the Department of Sociology at Peking University (PKU), to be hosted at PKU on 24-25 November 2023. 

The conference has a rich history of fostering cutting-edge research, promoting interdisciplinary collaboration, and facilitating the exchange of ideas. As a respected platform in the field of social work, our conference has consistently attracted leading academics, practitioners, and thought leaders from around the world. 

At present, the world's unprecedented changes in a century are accelerating, profoundly reshaping human production and lifestyle, and bringing great opportunities and challenges to economic and social development in various fields. The professional development of social work also needs to thoroughly implement the new development concept and continuously promote theoretical and practical innovation, so as to better meet the needs of social construction and social governance modernisation, and meet the people’s yearning for a better life. Hence, we are excited to provides a platform for in-depth exchanges on innovation in social work research, education and practices, as well as concerns in social development and social policy encompassing climate change, inequality in economic development, and population ageing for this Nov 2023 Conference. Guest speakers from Mainland China, Hong Kong SAR, Ethiopia, Israel, Italy, the Philippines and the United States of America have been invited.

Submission Guidelines:

• Please submit your paper abstract(template) to [email protected] by 30 September 2023.
• Notification of acceptance will be announced on 10 October 2023 via email. 
  (Eligible paper presenters’ accommodation and registration fee will be partially/fully sponsored)
• Please refer to Appendix 1 for the abstract template and choose only ONE theme.
• Please fill in Appendix 2. The information will be used for communication, issue invitation letter and conference booklet.
• Please submit the abstract (Appendix 1) and Personal Information Form (Appendix 2) together in a single word document.
• The content of the abstract and presentation should not be published or presented at other academic conferences. 
• The abstract and presentation should comply with academic ethics. Authors should take sole responsibility for their work.
